Women’s Writing Circles

Women’s Writing Circles offer a simple and beautiful process to meet our true selves on the page.

We use a line of poetry as our inspirational prompt, and then we write, with a pen and paper, and we keep our pen moving.

We write, we read aloud, we listen, we don’t comment, we simply support, and we move on to the next prompt. That’s it.

This practice is as simple as it is deep, offering us a safe and loving space to meet our authentic selves and true voice in a community of supportive, soulful women.

This process, based on my friend and teacher Laurie Wagner’s transformative Wild Writing classes, has not only reignited my passion for writing. It has also, quite unexpectedly, increased my capacity for kindness towards myself and others. It’s an honor for me to witness and know people more deeply through their stories.

You don’t need to be a writer or call yourself a writer to join!

You simply write (and that’s what writers do anyway). No labels, no categories, but an open invitation to be who you are.  This class is for anyone who wants to meet themselves on the page and know themselves better – a process that is freeing, joyful, sometimes difficult, but always worthy. (Please note: this is a class for freeing the voice within, not a class for someone looking to specifically create a book proposal or learn to craft a great opening sentence.)

The next round of Women’s Writing Circles begin Winter 2025.

Tuesday online classes begin January 14th from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM PT (7:00 to 8:30 PM ET). Eight week series ends March 4h.

Friday in-person writing classes in my Bay Area home begin Friday, January 17th, 10am to noon. Eight week series ends March 7th.

Classes run 8 weeks. I keep classes intentionally intimate, and currently accept no more than seven people per class.

Eight week class series: $360. Class fee must be paid in full before the first class begins. Early sign up cost: $315 if paid in full one month in advance of first class. If tuition is a challenge, please reach out.
