Ripples in a Pond
My friend Koii took a leap of faith and was in my very first women’s writing circle. I loved writing with her and realized how much richer my life was for writing with someone 40 years younger. I saw a bit of how one younger person experienced the world and how language changes and evolves over generations. It made me realize how much older people can benefit from being in the presence of young people, and how wonderful that can be.
She’s just launched a new line of laser engraved wooden greeting cards. Her link on Etsy is in the first comment below. Her mission is to “popularize handwritten communication”. She calls her business “the vinyl records of social media”
She wrote to me this morning and shared that our writing group is where she realized “the power that candid handwriting has to pull our hearts to the surface and bring us together with others.“ [we write with pen and paper, old school.] I could not be more honored. This is the deep gift of this writing practice and of doing Dharma work. When you share your gifts with the world, you never know how they resonate and how they move others to do the same. Like ripples in pond, flowing to the sea.
