I'm leaving Monday for Prather Ranch near Mt. Shasta to report on a cow slaughter for my book. I'm curious but afraid. Prather has very kindly agreed to let me come up and see their operations. But how will this meat eater actually feel watching cows get killed? I'll know soon enough.
