I’m Dayna.

I write because writing shows me who I am, what I think, and what I feel.

Come write with me!

We write our truth.

In Women’s Writing Circles, we don’t ask, “Is it good?” We ask, "Is it true?”

Creativity is our birthright. We come into this world open and free, and then we begin building walls. Beliefs like “I’m not a writer” or “I’m not a creative person” stifle our energy and joy, keeping us from knowing ourselves better and living more fully. The poet Mary Oliver asked, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

The time is now.

If you want to write, then write.

In Women’s Writing Circles, we come together in a safe, supportive circle of women and do just that. The practice is simple — we take a line of poetry as a prompt, and we write quickly and steadily. Then we read our work with gestures of support but no feedback. This practice allows our words to stand on its own. It let’s our writing breathe, quiets our inner critics, and taps into our deeper creativity so we can speak our truth.

We tell our stories, maybe for the first time, or we begin to tell them in different ways.

This work is as transformative for those at the beginning of their writing journey as it is for experienced writers.
