It is my pleasure and joy to welcome you to Women’s Writing Circles!
Women’s Writing Circles offer a simple and beautiful process to meet our true selves on the page: We use a line of poetry as our inspirational prompt, and then we write, with a pen and paper for around ten minutes, the pen doesn’t leave the page. We write, we read aloud, we listen, we don’t comment, we simply support, and we move on to the next prompt. That’s it. This practice is as simple as it is deep, offering us a safe and loving space to meet our authentic selves and true voice in a community of supportive, soulful women.
Based on my friend and teacher Laurie Wagner’s transformative Wild Writing process, Wild Writing has not only reignited my passion for writing, it has also, quite unexpectedly, increased my capacity for kindness, towards myself and others. It is truly an honor for me to witness and know people more deeply through their stories.
You don’t need to be a writer or want to be a writer to join! You simply write (and that’s what writers do anyway). No labels, no categories, but an open invitation to be who you are. This class is for anyone who wants to meet themselves on the page and know themselves better–a process that is joyful, beautiful, sometimes hard, but always worthy. (Likewise, it is not a class for someone looking to specifically create a book proposal or learn to craft a great opening sentence.)
Wednesday evening online classes begin September 13 ending Wednesday, November 1, 6:30 to 8 pm PST. In-person classes in my Berkeley home start Friday, September 15, ending Friday, November 3, 10 am to noon PST. Classes run for 8 weeks. I keep classes intentionally intimate, currently accepting no more than eight people per class. Each class series is $360.00, to be paid in full before the first class begins. If tuition is a challenge, please reach out.
If this strikes a chord in you, I hope you’ll join me! Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have. Email me at dayna [at] daynamacy.com And if you’d like to know a little more about me, what inspires me and what rocks my world, you can read more about me here.
