Teddy Kennedy

I was walking up Solano today, into the hills that lead to my home. At the intersection of Alameda and Solano, I saw the most adorable little white dog in the passenger seat of a pickup truck, driven by an old black woman wearing a turban.
“May I pet your dog?” I asked her.
“Sure” she says with a big grin.
“What’s his name?” I ask.
“Teddy Kennedy,” she replies, “except she’s a girl.”
“She’s 11 years old,” she continues. And with a big laugh she says, “she got more teeth than me!”
And she takes off as the light turns green.
